I had a wonderful time cruising the inside passage of Alaska aboard the Sacajawea. The highlights were seeing the many bears, and whales well as the amazing glaciers and scenery. The Sacajawea herself is very impressive! She is much bigger than you imagine she will be and although not pretentious (this vessel was built to do hard work in Alaska, after all!), she is extremely beautiful with classic lines and original wood and metal work. It makes you feel like you've gone back in time to be aboard. My cabin was comfortable and much more spacious than other charters I've been on. The salon is very roomy and comfortable and a great place to hang out on the couches or to watch a movie. The mess hall with it's custom furniture is beautiful although a little "extra cozy" when all 12 of us were sitting down! The food was excellent and the chef was very attentive to our individual preferences and needs. The rest of the crew was extremely helpful and are genuinely interesting people who obviously love the boat and to share about her history. Our guide really helped to add depth to the experience as he always had interesting knowledge to share about what we was going on.
